Print on US Letter paper. Use “fit to page” to keep the artwork inside your printer’s margins; for grid activities use the same print setting on both pages. The original JPG is also available if you prefer printing from an image.

How to use this free page

1. Print the tree reference and blank grid from the PDF.
2. Use the matching labels to find the square you are copying.
3. Draw the small line sections until the whole tree appears, then choose your decoration colors.

What the activity asks the artist to do

The tree’s branching silhouette crosses several grid squares, while the decorations create smaller details inside the shape. Work on one area at a time and check how the neighboring squares join. A child can pause between areas rather than treating the whole tree as a single drawing challenge.

An optional idea for the next picture

Once the copied picture is complete, invent a color theme for its ornaments. This printable can supply a Christmas art activity before a family gathering or during the holiday break. It does not include a cut-out tree template, detachable ornament craft, or puzzle instructions.
